South to Southwest orientated, this vineyard amphitheatre lies directly next to the Mosel. Due to a high slate content in the soil and a close proximity to the river, Steffensberg retains heat which is beneficial to the ripening process. The powerful, fruit-driven wines from this site are very well structured and show great complexity.

Letterlay
The next vineyard to the west of Steffensberg is Letterlay. Wines from Letterlay have a slightly tighter structure than the powerful wines produced by their eastern neighbour. The individual vineyards hug either side of a slight ridge which provides Southwest-Southeast orientations. Due to these subtle changes in topography, Letterlay allows us to source fruit from three separate mesoclimates.

Kirchlay
Moving west of Letterlay we find Kirchlay, home to two riesling sites. One of which has been recently replanted. Thanks to a Southeast orientation and slightly higher altitude (in comparison to Letterlay and Steffensberg) Kirchlay riesling is a perfect base wine for Sekt and offers great blending opportunities due to it’s light and crisp structure.

Paradies
A less extreme site in comparison to it’s eastern neighbours, ‘Paradise’ is the home to our youngest riesling block and our only red wine variety (Dornfelder). In addition to the deeper loam and alluvial soils vines living here have full access to sunshine throughout the growing season. Hence the name, these vines have very comfortable living standards. Paradies grows fruit- driven wines which can be enjoyed at any occassion.

Würzgarten
The Riesling grown on this very steep, west-orientated site produces a wine you would expect from a ‘Spice Garden.’ The fruit is of exceptional quality and composition.

Kräuterhaus
To the south of our Würzgarten block and located directly above Traben, the ‘Herb House’ is a small parcel of Riesling which lies in the sun all day. This south- orientated site grows elegant riesling which is capable of producing a variety of wine styles.
South Riesling Medium Loam
Klosterberg
In contrast to the monastery ruin above this vineyard, the Riesling produced here is lively and youthful in character. One of our few sites which can be accessed by a tractor, this gentle-sloped, Southeast-facing block was replanted in 2008. Wolf is a lovely village to spend a weekend, riding a bike through the vineyards before sitting down to a glass of your own local produce.

Schatzgarten
The vineyard blocks surrounding Klosterberg, are known collectively as the ‘Treasure Garden.’ Here you can choose from two varieties, Riesling and Müller- Thurgau. Found on deep loam and alluvial soils these sites grow round, well- balanced wines.

Sonnenlay
As the name suggests, this vineyard has great exposure to sunshine. Located in a quiet side valley on a steep, southeast-facing block, these traditionally-grown riesling vines produce interesting wines. Like their home, these wines are understated!
